We are now only a few weeks away from our largest nationwide fundraising event of the year, the Forget-Me-Not Walk 2023. Will you be joining the hundreds of people taking part, walking in memory of someone close? Lucy is!

Lucy will be walking in memory of her father Derek, who tragically died as a result of Covid in 2021. “Grief Encounter saved me after my dad died. Without their support I wouldn’t be in school and would be a very different person.”

In March 2022, midway through her counselling, Lucy decided she wanted to do something positive in memory of her Dad and took part in Grief Encounter’s Forget-Me-Not Walk. Enlisting 3 of her closest friends, the girls walked 26 miles and finished by a lake, where their families were waiting for them. “It was such a positive thing to do, and I was so grateful my friends got involved and walked with me. It was a special day, we talked about Dad whilst we walked. It felt good to be able to do something that would give back to the charity that was helping me so much.” You can read more about Lucy’s story in recent press articles below.
